Baseball Stats and Info

Good evening, Oldman Ted.

Great site, been checking it out pretty consistently since the beginning of the baseball season. Some great cappers with great input.

Looking to do a little more research on my own, and the stats sections of ESPN and MLB seem give you the bare minimun info for someone really wanting to delve into info on a baseball game.

Someone took Tampa Bay over Minnesota tonight because "Liriano gets tore
up by the East". That's great info, and it was right on.

Looking for stats on matchups, pitcher vs hitter matchups, etc.

What can you recommend? Thanks.

I know you are not asking me but I wanted to share my ideas with you guys, I always look for trends that could make a difference, for instance, for tonight's game between the Mets and the Nationals I made some research and noticed that Ike Davis is hitting .469 with three home runs and seven runs batted in during his current nine-game hitting streak.

The fact that Washington is 1-6 when playing against a team with a losing record this season is something to take into consideration. Also keep in mind that New York is 7-4 when the total is 8 to 8.5 this season.

ESPN has bat vs pitcher matchups. Click the full scoreboard, then the pitcher's last night, then there will be a tab underneath his picture "Bat Vs. Pitcher".... this is partially what you are looking for.

A couple of other places with match-up information. On the toolbar above, place your cursor over MLB and you will see a drop down menu with information on today's games including match-ups and stats.

Also, a site well known for it's statistical information is www.statfox.com.
